Prerequisites for the Training:

• Experience Required: 5 years of professional experience in information security management, including at least 3 years across 3 or more of the 4 CISM domains.
• Timing: Experience must be gained within 10 years before applying or within 5 years after passing the exam.
Experience Substitutions: Up to 2 years of the required experience can be waived with:
• Two-year substitutions: CISA, CISSP, or a postgraduate degree in information security or a related field.
• One-year substitutions: Information systems management experience, general security management experience, skill-based security certifications (e.g., GIAC, MCSE, CompTIA Security+, CBCP), or completion of an information security management program aligned with the Model Curriculum.
