    Description

    The JNCIS-SP exam has been designed for networking professionals who are experienced and have an advanced knowledge of the Junos software from Juniper networks. The exam itself validates the understanding of candidate in terms of advanced security technologies as well as platform configuration that is related to the same. Exam topics for these exams are created as per the training courses led by recommended instructors and successful candidates have to apply for recertification after two years. This can be got by passing the JNO-360 examination.

    The course content includes:

    1. Protocol-Independent Routing: Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of the different components of protocol-independent routing, static, generated and aggregated routes, load balancing, Martian addresses, filter based forwarding, knowledge of configuration and monitoring of various components of protocol-independent routing.
    2. Open Shortest Path First (OSPF): Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of OSPF, router ID, OSPF packet types, LSA packet types, etc.
    3. Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS): Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of IS-IS, IS-IS PDUs, levels and areas, DIS, additional basic options, etc.
    4. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP): Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of BGP, BGP message types, BGP basic operation, attributes, routing policy application, etc.
    5. Layer 2 Bridging and VLANs: ): Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of Layer 2 bridging in terms of the Junos OS, bridging terminology and elements, virtual switches, frame processing, provider bridging, IRB, etc.
    6. Spanning-Tree Protocols: Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of Spanning tree protocol, port roles and states, convergence and recovergence, spanning tree protocols such as RSTP, STP, etc.
    7. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and MPLS VPNs: Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of MPLS, etc.
    8. IPv6 : Identification of the operation, functionality and concepts of IPv6, etc.
    9. Tunnels: Identification of the requirements, functionality and concepts of IP tunnelling, etc.
    10. High availability : Identification of the application, benefits and concepts of high availibilty.
