    Description

    The JNCIS-SP exam has been designed for networking professionals who are experienced and have an advanced knowledge of the Junos software from Juniper networks. The exam itself validates the understanding of candidate in terms of advanced routing technologies as well as platform configuration and troubleshooting that is related to the same. Exam topics for these exams are created as per the training courses led by recommended instructors and successful candidates have to apply for recertification after two years. This can be got by passing the JNO-660 examination.

    The course content includes:

    1. OSPF: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of OSPF, OSPF area types, DR/BDR operation, LSA flooding, OSPF LSA types, authentication options, virtual links, SPF algorithm, OSPFv2 vs OSPF v3, etc.
    2. IS-IS: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of IS-IS, IS-IS link state PDU, LLSP flooding, DIS operation, IS-IS areas, SPF algorithm, route summarisation, authentication options, implementation of IS-IS routing policy, etc.
    3. BGP: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of BGP, next hop resolution, BGO communities, regular expressions, multihop, multipath, load balancing, advanced BGP options, etc.
    4. Class of Service (CoS): Description of the operation, functionality and concept of CoS in Junos, CoS header fields, classification, forwarding classes, schedulers, etc.
    5. IP Multicast: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of IP Multicast, multicast addressing and other components of multicast, RPF, SSM, MSDP, IGMP, ASM vs SSM, etc.
    6. MPLS: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of MPLS, LDP and PSVP operation, LSP optimisation, tie breaking options, TED, CSPF algorithm, etc.
    7. Layer 3 VPNs: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of Layer 3 VPNs, route distinguishers, sham links, route targets, full mesh vs hub and spoke topology, etc.
    8. Layer 2 VPNs: Description of the operation, functionality and concept of BGP Layer 2 VPNs, etc.
    9. Automation: Operation scripts, event scripts, commit scripts.
